MurphylinkThe PowerView 750 display is the newest addition to the company’s MurphyLink portfolio. The display integrates electronic engine, transmission and machine information into a large, full WVGA LCD flatscreen with rich full-color graphics. Unlike most displays on the market, the PowerView 750 display was designed so that each of the primary components can be isolated and engineered to each customer’s unique specifications.

“We are giving the customers the option to start with a simple off-the-shelf solution, or a more tailored solution to match application demands,” said Terry Brei, Off-Highway Product Manager at Murphy. “Our customers can customize the display to include up to 16 buttons, and change everything from the number of inputs available on the I/O board to the shape and color of the bezel.”

The PowerView 750 display focuses on making customization simple, and provides intuitive tools such as the configuration software to reduce the complexities of software programming. With the simple to use visual programming, users can completely define the software including configurable buttons and menus as well as more advanced C-code scripting capabilities.

“With the configuration software users can modify the look and feel of equipment screens and machine information from a personal computer,” said Brei. “It comes with a base library of templates and custom screen designs to choose from, as well as the ability to upload images to design uniquely customized screens.”

The configuration tool simplifies the translation of custom text as well. When a manufacturer creates a custom equipment screen that includes custom text, the text can be exported for translation, and the translated version is then easily imported back into the program by the user. Additional features include the ability to drag-and-drop components and adjust colors and units of measure.

Equipment manufacturers can also modify the configuration of the I/O board to meet their application needs. This allows manufacturers to ensure that the PowerView 750 display will fit into an existing application. The location and number of inputs available can be reconfigured to match connections in equipment and create a drop-in solution so that production of equipment is unaltered.
