AUSTIN, TEXAS (September 10, 2007) - Emerson Process Management announces the release of an API 670-compliant protection capability as part of its online machinery monitoring solution for turbomachinery. API 670 is the American Petroleum Institute's globally accepted definition of industry best practices for turbomachinery protection. The CSI 6000 Machinery Health™ Monitor provides the protection capability and complements Emerson's existing predictive diagnostics and performance monitoring technologies. Online machinery monitoring delivers actionable information on mechanical equipment health so plant personnel can maximize plant availability and production. Through the PlantWeb® digital plant architecture, the CSI 6000 Machinery Health Monitor integrates with Emerson's AMS™ Suite of predictive maintenance applications enabling reliability and maintenance personnel to improve plant availability and performance. Further integration with Emerson's Ovation® and DeltaV™ automation systems provide operations with essential machinery information. The CSI 6000 offers full turbine supervisory instrumentation including case expansion, differential expansion, thrust position, and both relative and absolute vibration with a local display option. The CSI 6000 rack includes buffered outputs for connectivity with any data collector for raw waveform vibration data. The 19" wide rack contains 14 swappable slots, and at 3U high is half the size of traditional racks. The unit also offers dual, redundant 24 VDC power. "The CSI 6000 Machinery Health Monitor complements our leading online machinery monitoring solutions and AMS Suite predictive maintenance software," said Craig Llewellyn, president of Emerson's Asset Optimization division. "Now our users can turn to Emerson for the most comprehensive and integrated machinery monitoring capabilities." A complete range of sensors, adapters, cables, connectors, converters, and fittings are available for new installations, retrofits, or replacement of sensors during an overhaul. Instrumentation adjustments or change-outs can be made while the machine is running. Emerson offers world-class services to assist users with system design, installation, configuration and startup, training, and ongoing support. For more information, go to www.mhm.assetweb.com.
